European coverage is a second-class citizen everywhere else

If you invest in European equities, you’ve felt this. You open a well-regarded US research tool, search a company on the AEX or the DAX or one filing at Companies House, and you get a thin page. Delayed fundamentals. A source link that points at a US database which doesn’t hold the document. A layout that quietly assumes 10-K and 10-Q are the only filing formats that exist. The tool wasn’t built to be wrong about Europe. It was built for the US, and Europe was bolted on.
The data underneath is the tell. US filings flow through SEC EDGAR in a machine-readable structure the entire tooling ecosystem is optimized around. European disclosure lives elsewhere — ESEF, the EU’s structured electronic reporting format, and Companies House in the UK — each with its own taxonomy, filing rhythm, and quirks. Ingesting them properly is real engineering, and if your center of gravity is the S&P 500, it’s work that’s easy to defer forever. So it gets deferred forever. European coverage ends up a second-class citizen: present enough to claim it exists, shallow enough that a serious European investor learns not to rely on it.
We built the other way around.
Native European coverage. EquiVault’s Europe market pack covers roughly 4,000 European companies, sourced from ESEF and Companies House filings — not scraped summaries, but the same typed-field-with-a-receipt treatment every North American filing gets: value, unit, source, timestamp, freshness. It’s one of four packs — North America ~8,000, Europe ~4,000, Asia-Pacific ~3,000, Emerging Markets ~1,500, about 16,500 companies in total. Those are the honest per-pack numbers, not one inflated headline. And Europe isn’t the afterthought pack. It’s a reason the product exists.
EU-hosted and GDPR-native. Where your data lives is not a footnote for a European user, and certainly not for a European advisor. EquiVault is hosted in the EU and GDPR-native by design — not a US product with an EU compliance bolt-on, but infrastructure that starts inside the regime you already answer to. A Data Processing Agreement is available on request. We don’t claim certifications we don’t hold, and we’re specific about that on our security page. What we do claim is true today: EU-hosted, GDPR-first, DPA on request.
Six languages. Atlas narrates, and the interface runs, in six locales — so a Dutch or German investor reads the thesis in their own language, not a machine-translated approximation of an English one. For the same reason the coverage is native rather than bolted-on, the language support is built in rather than a plugin.
Who this is for
European retail investors who are tired of being a rounding error in someone else’s product — who want the AEX, the CAC 40, or an FTSE constituent covered with the same depth, freshness, and sourcing a US tool reserves for the Nasdaq.
European advisors and small practices, for whom “where is the data hosted” and “can I get a DPA” aren’t nice-to-haves — they’re the first two questions compliance asks. For a one-to-five-person advisory practice, EU-hosted + GDPR-native + DPA-on-request is often the difference between a tool you can adopt and one you can’t, regardless of how good the analysis is.
Honest about the edges
Native doesn’t mean total. ~4,000 European companies is deep coverage of the region’s investable core — not every micro-cap on every venue — and we’d rather tell you the real number than headline a fictional one. Coverage grows; the figure on this page is what’s true now, and our per-pack numbers are the ones we stand behind everywhere.
The wedge, plainly
We’re not claiming to out-feature the incumbents on US large-caps. We’re claiming something narrower and truer: if your portfolio has a European center of gravity, most tools treat you as a second-class citizen, and we don’t. Same narrated canvas, same receipt on every number — pointed at the filings you actually read. (How that receipt works: Why our AI never touches the numbers.)
If your portfolio is European: Starter is $39/mo and includes one market pack of your choice — pick Europe. Professional is $199/mo flat for your whole practice, all four packs included, EU-hosted with a DPA on request.
